MRI / Magnetic Resonance Imaging

The use of magnetic radio waves to create an image of the structures of the body. MRI can visualize soft tissues as well as bony tissues, and can quantify many descriptive qualities of those tissues. MRI can often be up to or more than 10 times as expensive as x-ray. MRI does not use radiation, and then bus does not have any of the risk of damage or injury due to ionizing radiation. MRI is typically a separate designated coverage on insurance plan.
